Wolverhampton Wanderers Appoint Rob Edwards As New Manager

Wolverhampton: Wolverhampton Wanderers announced Wednesday the appointment of Welshman Rob Edwards as their new manager on a three-and-a-half-year contract, running until the summer of 2029.

According to Qatar News Agency, the club stated on its website that Edwards, 42, will take over from Portuguese manager Vtor Pereira, who was dismissed last week. The statement highlighted that Edwards' appointment followed a thorough review of his track record as a coach, which the club believes is essential to avoid relegation this season.

Based on their desire for coaching stability, Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Edwards to a three-and-a-half-year contract, set to last until the summer of 2029. Currently, the team sits at the bottom of the Premier League table with only two points from 11 matches, having drawn two and lost nine.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are scheduled to face Crystal Palace on November 22 in their 12th league fixture. Edwards, a former player for Wolverhampton Wanderers, made 111 appearances for the club between 2004 and 2008. He previously led Luton Town to promotion to the Premier League in 2023 and also managed Middlesbrough.
