Women’s Volleyball League Kicks Off Friday

Doha: The first round of the 2024-2025 Women's Volleyball League will kick off tomorrow, Friday. Organized by Qatar Volleyball Association in collaboration with Qatar Foundation, the competition will begin with three matches at Qatar Foundation's Al-Mutlaq Hall: Al Arabi vs. Al Ahli, Al Khor vs. Qatar Foundation team, and Al Rayyan vs. Qatar Club.

According to Qatar News Agency, this tournament marks Qatar Volleyball Association's commitment to advancing women's sports and promoting women's participation in athletics. It serves as a significant step in building a strong foundation for women's sports, while also contributing to the creation of a competitive sports culture that meets global standards. This enhances Qatar's standing as a leading sports destination both regionally and internationally.

Organized in collaboration with Qatar Foundation, a partner of the International Volleyball Federation, the league highlights the ongoing strategic partnership aimed at supporting the development of women's sports in Qatar to the highest international standards.

The inaugural league season features six teams: Al Arabi, Al Rayyan, Qatar, Al Ahli, Al Khor, and Qatar Foundation. Teams will compete in a home-and-away format, with the best-of-five sets system to intensify competition and provide players with more experience and exposure.
