Beijing: American tennis player Amanda Anisimova advanced to the final of the China Open (WTA 1000) in Beijing for the first time, following a commanding straight-sets victory over fellow American and defending champion Coco Gauff on Friday. Anisimova, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, dispatched Gauff 6-1, 6-2 in just 58 minutes in the semifinal clash. According to Qatar News Agency, with this win, Anisimova sets up a final showdown against the winner of the other semifinal, which features another American, Jessica Pegula, taking on rising Czech star Linda Noskova, the World No. 26, later today. Gauff, the 2024 China Open champion, claimed last year's title with a straight-sets victory over Czech player Karolína Muchova, 6-1, 6-3, in the final.
