Moscow, The Russian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the aggression launched by the US on Saturday at dawn against a number of sites in Syria and Iraq, stressing that it constitutes a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of countries. The US occupation forces launched a blatant aerial act of aggression on a number of sites and towns in the eastern region of Syria and near the Syrian-Iraqi border, which led to the martyrdom of a number of civilians and soldiers and the injury of others. The aggression also targeted sites in western Anbar Governorate in Iraq, causing many casualties. 'It is clear that the American air strikes on Syria and Iraq are deliberately aimed at further escalating tensions in the Middle East region,' TASS news agency quoted Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, as saying in a statement. She said, ''We strongly condemn the new blatant US aggression against sovereign countries,' adding 'We demand that the emerging situation be immediately considered through th e UN Security Council.'
