Six people were killed after heavy rain triggered flash floods and landslides in a remote corner of Indias northeast, local officials in India reported. Senior state government official Gopinath Raha said flood waters from the Teesta River had also washed away roads and bridges, causing severe damage on the roads and disrupting traffic. Mangan district police superintendent Sonam Dichu confirmed that parts of the states north had been cut off from the rest of the country, with the local government working to provide the possible support to victims and affected families.
