The African-European Conference on Migration kicked off in Benghazi, Libya, on Saturday, under the slogan: "Sustainable solutions for migration." The conference aims to come up with effective solutions to issues related to immigration and migrants. It discusses ways to enhance international and regional cooperation to combat human smuggling networks, protect the rights of migrants, and improve the conditions of refugees. It also focuses on studying the economic, social and political roots of the phenomenon of irregular migration and exchanging experiences and best practices in dealing with its security, health and environmental repercussions.
