Hanoi:Al Noor Center for the Blind marked World Sight Day and White Cane Day as part of its “Their light is among us” initiative.

According to Qatar News Agency, the center, affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, emphasized the importance of these occasions in promoting eye health and advocating for the rights of individuals with visual disabilities.

Executive Director Mishaal Al Nuaimi highlighted that the events underline the need for prevention and early detection of eye conditions and affirm the rights of visually impaired individuals to independence, mobility, and full societal participation.

Al Nuaimi also noted that the white cane is a crucial tool for independence, allowing people with visual disabilities to navigate facilities and services safely and confidently. He emphasized the importance of creating accessible environments and implementing institutional practices that support inclusion and participation.
