Manama, The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) in partnership with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), announced that it received support from Al Sadiq Transport Company to plant 40 Neem tree seedlings along the cycling track in Zallaq. Al Sadiq Transport's contribution came in support of the third phase of the national afforestation campaign "Forever Green". The campaign aims to protect the environment and provide greener landscapes, as well as create an atmosphere free from carbon emissions for pedestrians. This effort is a contribution to mitigate the effects of climate change, and supporting local and international efforts to achieve zero carbon neutrality. Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, NIAD Secretary-General, said that cycling tracks are an important addition for a healthy lifestyle, and planting trees on those tracks adds to their benefits by reducing summer heat or purifying the air. For his part, Hassan Ali Taher, owner of Al Sadiq Transport, expressed pride in contributing to supporting NIAD's efforts.
