New York, Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has affirmed his country's support for UN efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria. That came during a meeting with UN Special Envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, on the sidelines of their participation in the 79th session of UN General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, Araqchi shed light on the latest developments taking place in Syria and the means to reach a political solution there, underscoring the necessity for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Syrian territory, noting also to the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory. He also discussed with a number of Foreign Ministers several topics regarding the stability and security of the region as a whole.
