Manama, The Civil Defence teams extinguished a fire in residential buildings and shops in the old Manama souq. Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, the Chief of Public Security and Head of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee inspected the site to follow up on the firefighting and rescue operations for injured and trapped individuals. The Chief of Public Security said that the team rushed to the site within five minutes of receiving the case at 4:22 PM and immediately carried out rescue and firefighting operations led by the Director-General of Civil Defence to prevent flames from spreading. He added that the cooling operations commenced. Nine individuals sustained injuries and breathing problems. No deaths were reported. The National Ambulance provided first aid at the site and referred others to the hospital for treatment. Source: Bahrain News Agency
