Ramallah - Ma'an - Civil Defense crews took control at dawn today, Thursday, and are still working to extinguish a fire in the central vegetable market in the city of Ramallah, coinciding with the occupation forces storming the city center and firing sound and gas bombs. A report stated that the fire started in wooden vegetable carts and moved to some shops, where 10 fire engines worked, reinforced by the Jerusalem and Salfit governorates, with a force of 60 firefighters, in addition to supporting partners in the police, national security, and the municipality to control and prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring commercial complexes. The report added that the fire site officer confirmed that fire control had reached more than 80% after three hours of work, stressing that the work requires additional hours and may continue beyond the afternoon hours today. It is noteworthy that the Director General of Civil Defense, Major General Al-Abd Ibrahim Khalil, supervised the work of the field crews, and ex plained that the crews will remain at the site for additional hours until they achieve complete control of the fires and to prevent the recurrence of the fires.
