Geneva, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Board of Trustees Chairman of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, met with Martin Chungong, Secretary-General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah affirmed the Centre's commitment to strengthening collaboration with the IPU, particularly in legislative development, capacity building for parliamentarians, youth empowerment, and fostering parliamentary diplomacy to promote peaceful coexistence. He highlighted the Centre's goals of encouraging dialogue between religions and cultures, combating extremism and hate speech, and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. On his part, Chungong praised Bahrain's efforts to promote global peace and security, highlighting the success of the 146th IPU Assembly, which focused on peaceful coexistence and inclusivity. He also commended the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence for its role in promoting a culture of peace and dialogue, wishing Bahrain cont inued progress and prosperity.
