Amman: An earthquake measuring 4.1 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Thursday morning south of the Gulf of Aqaba in Jordan. According to Qatar News Agency, the Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO) reported that the earthquake occurred 150 km south of Aqaba, at a depth of 6 km, and approximately 9 km east of Sharm El-Sheikh. The seismic event took place along the Dead Sea Fault line. The Jordan News Agency (Petra) confirmed that the earthquake was perceptible but did not cause any damage to infrastructure.
