Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, praised the outcomes of the official state visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Russian Federation at the invitation of His Excellency President Vladimir Putin. The minister said the visit will further impetus the historical friendship between Bahrain and Russia, boosting political, economic, and strategic cooperation between the two countries. The minister welcomed the signing of the memorandums of understanding and agreements on diplomatic, economic, cultural, health and environmental cooperation, emphasising the two leadership's keenness in consolidating security, stability, and peace in the region. He emphasised Bahrain's commitment under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the efforts of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamed Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance political cooperation with Russia. He noted the keenness of activating the outputs of the joint go vernmental committee on commercial, economic, scientific, and technological cooperation, backed by more than fifty agreements and memoranda covering political, security, economic, media, and cultural domains. Dr. Al Zayani affirmed the keenness of HM the King to discuss regional and global developments with HE President Putin, while briefing him on the outcomes of the 33rd Arab Summit and Bahrain's proposals for an international peace conference to end the war on Gaza, establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the two-state solution, and address the humanitarian crisis affecting conflict victims. The minister said that the official talks represented a historical opportunity in which HM the King conveyed the appreciation of the kingdom and Arab states for Russia's stances supporting just Arab causes, particularly in the UN Security Council, including the support for the Palestinian state permanent UN membership. The talks also underscored His Majesty's diplomatic approach to establishing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on good neighbourliness and demonstration of the strong historic cultural ties between the people of the two countries, which would positively contribute to regional peace, prosperity and stability. Dr. Al Zayani concluded by emphasising the success of the official state visit of His Majesty to the Russian Federation in its timing, objectives and outcomes, looking forward to celebrating the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Russia next year.
