New York, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met yesterday with Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting was held within the framework of coordination to initiate talks regarding the restoration of diplomatic relations, based on the principles of good neighbourliness and mutual cooperation for the benefit of both nations. The meeting was attended by Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, and Jamal Fares Al Ruwaie, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
