Gaza - Ma'an - The Gaza Municipality confirmed that the shortage of vehicles, especially heavy vehicles, and the lack of spare parts and oils needed to maintain the few remaining vehicles at the municipality, as well as fuel, increases the municipality's inability to respond to emergency operations and provide basic services to citizens. She added that the Israeli occupation destroyed during the current aggression and the ongoing genocidal war for about 10 months about 126 vehicles, equivalent to 80% of the municipality's vehicles of various sizes, especially waste collection vehicles, sewage treatment, water services and heavy bulldozers, in addition to destroying dozens of electric generators, which caused an almost complete deficit in the vehicles and the municipality's ability to collect waste, open roads and provide water and sewage services. The municipality explained that the remaining machinery at the municipality is not sufficient for the municipality's work and emergency efforts. These machinery a re old and need periodic maintenance, and the lack of spare parts and oils needed for their maintenance threatens to stop them and thus cause a complete paralysis in emergency operations, which threatens to exacerbate the catastrophic conditions that the city is experiencing. The municipality confirmed that there are urgent and pressing needs that need to be provided from outside the Gaza Strip, including batteries of different sizes, hydraulic engine oils and oils for various uses for maintaining machinery, car tires (rubber) of different sizes, solar and air filters and oils. The Gaza Municipality calls on all international organizations and concerned parties to urgently intervene and provide mechanisms and spare parts and enable the municipality to respond to emergency efforts and reduce the humanitarian disaster that the city is experiencing.
