Doha: Two matches will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, for Groups A and B in the second round of the quarter-final qualifiers for the HH the Amir's Volleyball Cup for the 2024-2025 sports season. The matches will be held at the Qatar Volleyball Federation Hall.
According to Qatar News Agency, the four participating teams are seeking to achieve victory and enhance their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals, with the ambition of winning the title high.
In Group A, Al Arabi will face Al Khor in their first match in the tournament. Al Arabi hope to open their campaign with a victory that will give them a strong push towards qualification, while Al Khor are looking to make up for their loss in the first round to Al Sadd in three sets to none (25-18, 25-18, and 25-23) to maintain their hopes of competing. Al Sadd lead the group with 3 points, while Al Khor remain pointless.
In Group B, Al Ahli face Al Shamal in their first appearance in the qualifiers, seeking an ideal start that will bring them closer to qualification. Meanwhile, Al Shamal aims to make up for their loss to Al Gharafa in the opening round, losing three sets to none (25-23, 25-18, and 25-23). Al Gharafa lead the group with 3 points, while Al Shamal remains pointless.
The qualifiers conclude next Saturday with two matches. The first will be Al Arabi vs. Al Sadd in an anticipated summit in Group A, while Al Ahli will meet Al Gharafa in Group B. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals, joining the four teams that qualified directly by topping the league standings: Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Police, and Qatar SC.
