Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has issued Royal Decree No. (24) of 2024 to establish the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC). The decree stipulates: Article 1: The PDRC shall be formed and chaired by the Ombudsperson at the Ministry of Interior. The members of the commission are: Judge Ibrahim Salman Al Jafen, Judge Mahmood Salman Mahmood Al Siddiqi, Advisor Nayef Yousif Mohammed Mahmoud, Adnan Sayed Ali Jawad Al Wedaei, Hamad Salman Taqi, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ahmed Abdulrahman Mohammed, Hameed Ahmed Husain, Rawdha Salman AL Aradi, Dr Hooreya Abbas Hasan Yusuf, Fahad Abdulla Al-Mualla, and Dr. Abdullah Khalifa Al Thawadi. Their membership of the Commission shall be for a period of three years. Article 2: This order shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
