Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today at Sakhir Palace the winners of the four medals (two gold, one silver, and one bronze) from the Paris 2024 Olympics. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), attended the reception. His Majesty expressed his appreciation to the Bahraini athletes and officials for their outstanding performance and dedication, which led to Bahrain's historic achievement of ranking first among Arab nations and 33rd globally out of approximately 204 countries participating in the Olympics. He congratulated the athletes on their remarkable success. His Majesty remarked that such achievements inspire future ambitions and praised the athletes' determination and commitment to continue excelli ng in upcoming competitions. He also commended the leadership and efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in advancing Bahrain's sports sector, which has resulted in significant accomplishments on regionally and internationally. Acknowledging the support of the Bahraini sports community, His Majesty highlighted the collective efforts that have propelled Bahrain to competitive prominence and led to the attainment of many titles and honours. In recognition of their contributions, His Majesty awarded the First Class Medal of Competence to athletes Winfred Mutile Yavi, Ahmed Mohammed Taj Eddin, Salwa Eid Naser, and Gor Tigran Minasyan. His Majesty wished them and all the Kingdom's athletes continued success and progress in their upcoming participations in international competitions. On their part, the athletes expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for the honour and the unwavering support they receive, which contributed in their success. They pledged to continue striving for further achievements in future competitions, extending their thanks to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their continued encouragement. His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa conveyed his sincere appreciation to His Majesty for his steadfast support of Bahrain's sports sector, emphasising that the historic Olympic achievement in Paris 2024 is a result of His Majesty's visionary leadership and unlimited backing. He affirmed that this support will continue to drive further progress and elevate Bahrain's sports to new successes. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad reiterated his gratitude to His Majesty and expressed hope for more achievements under his leadership.
