Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received Major General Zac Stenning, Commandant of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), at Sakhir Palace today during his visit to Bahrain. His Majesty welcomed Major General Stenning and emphasised the deep, historical ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom. He noted the ongoing development of cooperation in various domains, which supports shared goals and mutual interests. HM the King commended the role of the RMAS in training officers of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), recognising its significant contribution to military education. His Majesty reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the UK across political, economic, defence, and security sectors, aiming for the prosperity and benefit of both kingdoms. HM the King praised the role of British and American forces, in collaboration with regional countries, in maintaining security and stability in the region, ensuring safe mari time navigation in international routes, and preventing military escalation. His Majesty highlighted the importance of the Bahrain-US Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement in safeguarding regional security and prosperity. The discussion also covered recent developments in the Middle East, and the military escalation. His Majesty called for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the facilitation of humanitarian aid delivery to civilians, the release of hostages and detainees, and a comprehensive peace resolution based on the two-state solution. HM the King stressed the need for de-escalation in Lebanon, as well as the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. On his part, Major General Stenning expressed his gratitude to His Majesty for the hospitality and commended Bahrain's efforts to strengthen the historical relations between the two kingdoms while supporting regional stability initiatives.
