The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested -in the past two days- at least 26 Palestinian civilians from various areas in the West Bank, including a student, a journalist and several freed captives. In a joint statement, Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that the IOF arrested more than 9,750 Palestinian civilians from various areas in the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds), since the beginning of the Israeli genocide on the Palestinian people. The arrests included those who were arrested from homes or through military checkpoints, as well as those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage, the statement added. The IOF continues carrying out these arrest sprees that are usually accompanied by widespread raids, torture, and severe beatings and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread sabotage and destruction of the homes of Palestinian citizens . These arrest sprees are one of the most prominent and systematic policies used by the IOF as a tool of its collective punishment policy, which is the same tool that the Israeli occupation is using in targeting Palestinian civilians, in light of the ongoing genocide that Israel is committing against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
