Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin discussed Thursday with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, who is currently visiting Ireland, the situation in the Middle East. A statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that Hussein stressed during the meeting the importance of collective action to stop the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, pointing to the need to end the dangerous escalation witnessed by the Middle East, and the importance of protecting it from sliding into a comprehensive regional war that would affect the global economy.
