Ramallah - Ma'an - Palestinian Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan discussed with Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), prospects for joint cultural cooperation in the Moroccan capital Rabat, in the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco Jamal Al-Shoubaki and his accompanying delegation. The two parties stressed the importance of cooperation and partnership between the ministry and ICESCO in the framework of preserving heritage in its tangible and intangible aspects, documenting it, supporting projects with cultural specialization, in addition to transferring expertise and organizing joint cultural programs, organizing training programs targeting workers in the cultural sector, and encouraging the participation of young creators in all cultural fields. In turn, Minister Hamdan praised ISESCO's important role in supporting many cultural fields and institutions, and its clear initiatives in supporting Palestinian youth, wishing to intensify cooperation, especially in light of the preparations for the celebration of Hebron as the Capital of Islamic Culture for the year 2026, and stressing the joint work regarding limiting the damage to the cultural sector in Palestine, specifically in the Gaza Strip, in light of what it is exposed to as a result of the Israeli war machine. For his part, the Director General of the organization said that Palestine is in our hearts, and we are trying to provide everything we can to support cultural and educational institutions in Palestine, expressing the organization's readiness to provide all support to strengthen Palestinian cultural, heritage and educational institutions, explaining that the organization looks forward to cooperating with the competent authorities in the State of Palestine to identify the needs to implement projects that benefit the Palestinians.
