Doha: The Public Transport Security Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) conducted a mock train crash drill at Al Wakra Metro station with the participation of several entities, the MoI said in a statement on Saturday. The Operations Management at the General Directorate of Civil Defense, General Directorate of Traffic, Southern Security Management, Emergency Police Department, Central Operations Management, along with the Ambulance Service at Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar Rail, and RKH Company, the operator of Doha Metro, participated in the drill, the statement said. Exercise officer from the Public Transport Security Department First Lieutenant Ghanim Mohammed Al Malki said the department has been keen to carry out emergency exercises for Doha Metro and Lusail Tram based on a timeline specifically set for this purpose with the participation of the MoI departments and other entities so as to be in full alert, in addition to enhancing cooperation and inspecting the measures taken to secure railw ays infrastructure.
