Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad, Secretary-General of Al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, discussed with members of the party's central leadership the agenda of the expanded meeting expected to be held soon. Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of topics, including elections that will be held during the expanded meeting to select members of the central committee and the central leadership. The debates also touched upon the formation of the relevant committees for the expanded meeting, and the better numerical representation of the governorates in the next central committee, so that the representational imbalance occurring among the Syrian governorates in this regard is overcome.
