As part of the summer programs, Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) organized an event for (The Support Group for Children with Diabetes and Families). The group acts as a social networking platform for parents of children diagnosed with diabetes under the auspices of the health team of Qatar Diabetes Association. The program aims to provide recreational activities for children and at the same time provides support to the parents in providing care for their children through group discussions. Executive Director of Qatar Diabetes Association Dr. Abdulla Al Hamaq said: "Being involved and engaging in a diabetes support group is hugely beneficial as connecting with others facing the same challenges allows you to ease the burden of responsibilities by sharing information, sharing tips and experiences, and not feeling different. Parents participants can also discover help and assistance in many forms." It should be noted that the summer period includes upcoming activities for all age groups of people diagnosed with diabetes.
