Doha: Qatar Foundation's (QF) Stars of Science TV program wrapped up its 16th season Saturday night in which the jury and online public voting determined the Top Arab Innovator and the 2nd and 3rd placeholders. Stars of Science host Khalid Al Jumaily announced Yaman Tayyar from Syria as the Top Arab Innovator for his invention 'Geno', a microfluidic mixer designed to produce lipid nanoparticles for gene therapy. Tayyar said that being crowned as the Top Arab Innovator and receiving validation from experts in the field makes the win even more impactful and this only marks the beginning of a long journey of innovations. He underlined that Stars of Science provided him with tremendous support that helped him achieve his innovation within three months instead of the full year that was initially planned. Tunisian Haytham Yahyaoui won 2nd place for his Alzheimer's early detection app 'NeuroVox', which utilizes voice analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) for early diagnosis. Nada ElKharashi from Egypt won 3 rd place for her project, 'Biovolt', which generates electricity from air humidity using bacterial nanowires. President of Qatar Science and Technology Park Dr. Jack Lau said that the three finalists dedicated themselves to presenting their pioneering innovations throughout the season, showcasing the talent and vision of young inventors in the region and highlighting the unlimited potential of science and technology. Qatar Science and Technology Park firmly believes in empowering bright minds to become leaders and inventors capable of shaping a promising innovative future to serve all segments of society, Dr. Lau added. Stars of Science called innovators interested in participating in its 17th season to apply before December 31 through www.starsofscience.info. Beginning with initial designs to now prototypes competing for the grand prize, the three contestants went through the stages of developing their innovation during the program's 16th season, highlighting their creativity and ability in passing rigor ous development stages. QF's Stars of Science TV program represents a key platform for Arab inventors that transforms ideas into practical solutions, making it a leading program in the Arab world in the field of innovation that supports and encourages innovation among Arab youth.
