Damascus, Syria and Russia discussed Monday cultural cooperation between the two countries and the project to rebuild and restore the Triumph Arch in Palmyra city. That came during a meeting between Culture Minister Dr. Lubana Mshaweh and Russian Ambassador in Damascus Alexander Efimov. Mshaweh underlined the importance of the project for both countries and the need to overcome all difficulties hinder implementing it. She hailed the scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries in this field. For his part, the Russian ambassador underscored the importance of this project at the cultural and political levels, stressing the keenness of the two sides to preserve this historical edifice by using the latest scientific methods. Both sides stressed the necessity of holding a joint meeting with the presence of Russian and Syrian experts to agree on the work mechanism and set up timetable for the next stage.
