The Turkish Defense Ministry announced Sunday that it has eliminated nine militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq. The Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement that nine PKK members were eliminated in an airstrike targeting their positions in the Hakurk region. Turkish security forces have been conducting operations for years to track down individuals suspected of belonging to the PKK and ISIS, who carry out attacks and bombings targeting both civilians and military personnel.
