The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said Monday that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to prevent humanitarian missions from reaching the northern Gaza Strip to deliver vital supplies, including medicines and food, to the besieged people. The UNRWA indicated in a statement distributed by its media office in Gaza that hospitals were bombed and left without electricity, while the injured were left without care. It confirmed that the remaining shelters affiliated with UNRWA are extremely overcrowded, to the point that some of the displaced have been forced to live in toilets. The agency explained that according to reports, people trying to flee are being killed, and their bodies are left in the streets. Missions to rescue people from under the rubble are also being prevented, stressing the need for humanitarian agencies, including UNRWA, to be able to reach northern Gaza. It noted that the deprivation of humanitarian aid and its use as a weapon to achieve mil itary purposes is a sign of the extent of the decline of the moral compass. The agency demanded that aid reach all those in need in Gaza, including civilians, including children and hostages, adding that no one should beg for help or plead to be able to provide assistance. On October 6, the Israeli occupation forces began a ground aggression that is still ongoing in the northern Gaza Strip, where they besieged the entire area and carried out massacres that included direct executions of displaced persons, shelling of civilian gatherings, and targeting schools sheltering displaced persons, while preventing the entry of water, food, and medicine supplies. The occupation forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea, and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the martyrdom of 42,603 Palestinians, and the injury of 99,759 others, the majority of whom were children and women, as thousands of missing persons were still under the rubble.
