Jerusalem - Ma'an - Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by municipal crews and vehicles, stormed Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan town on Tuesday. Eyewitnesses explained that the occupation forces stormed Al-Bustan neighborhood, after completely besieging the neighborhood and its surroundings and spreading out at all the intersections leading to it, and they also prevented anyone from reaching Al-Bustan neighborhood. Witnesses added that the forces are surrounding a house to carry out the demolition operation. Eyewitnesses said that the occupation forces began demolishing the house of Younis Awda in Al-Bustan neighborhood. Awda's house has been standing since 2016 and houses 10 people. The municipality had raided Awda's house at the beginning of August, and demanded that he demolish the house, and gave him a 3-week deadline, but he refused the "self-demolition" process. The entire Al-Bustan neighborhood is threatened with demolition, due to the implementation of the 'King's Garden' project on its rui ns, after the municipality rejected all the engineering plans submitted by the residents over the past years, to protect the neighborhood from demolition. The Al-Bustan neighborhood includes about 100 houses in which about 1,550 people live, most of whom are children and women. In recent months, the municipality has begun demolition operations in Al-Bustan neighborhood. Source: Maan News Agency
