Geneva, Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), received Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, at the organisation's headquarters. During the meeting, WIPO's Director General commended Bahrain's efforts in strengthening intellectual property protection, including patents and trademarks, and its role in diversifying the economy and enhancing collaboration with WIPO to develop intellectual property strategies. He also expressed his commitment to further cooperate with Bahrain in expertise exchange, capacity building, and training to achieve shared goals. On his part, the UN Representative acknowledged WIPO's role in providing essential intellectual property technologies and establishing a balanced and effective international system to promote innovation and creativity. He reaffirmed Bahrain's support for WIPO's initiatives and its commitment to enhancing intellectual property rights, fostering innovation , and improving the Kingdom's ranking in the Global Innovation Index.
