An Air Algerie passenger plane made an emergency landing Monday, returning to Houari Boumediene Airport after taking off for about an hour due to a technical failure. Air Algerie said in a statement that the plane was on a flight between Algiers and Istanbul, and took off at 23:02 local time from Algiers International Airport, before its pilot decided to return to Houari Boumediene International Airport an hour after takeoff, as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
